Chapter 8 - THE EMPTY HOUSE NEXT DOOR
When Tyler moved into his new neighborhood, the house next door had been empty for years.
The neighbors never talked about it.
One night, Tyler noticed a light upstairs.
He assumed someone had moved in.
The next morning, he asked his neighbor.
The man looked uncomfortable.
“Nobody lives there.”
Tyler laughed.
“I saw someone upstairs.”
His neighbor shook his head.
“That house has no electricity.”
That night, Tyler saw the light again.
Then he saw a woman standing behind the upstairs curtain.
She lifted her hand.
Tyler waved.
The woman pointed toward his house.
Then she disappeared.
The next morning, Tyler found a note pushed beneath his front door.
It contained only one sentence:
May you like
“She was trying to warn you.”
