Chapter 14 - THE BEDROOM MIRROR
Ashley inherited an antique mirror from her aunt.
It was old, heavy, and covered with dark wooden carvings.
She placed it across from her bed.
The first night, she noticed something strange.
Her reflection seemed slightly delayed.
She raised her hand.
The reflection moved a fraction of a second later.
Ashley blamed exhaustion.
The next night, it happened again.
Then one night, Ashley sat on the edge of the bed.
Her reflection remained standing.
Ashley stopped breathing.
The reflection slowly raised one finger to its lips.
“Shhh.”
Ashley turned around.
Nobody was there.
When she looked back, the mirror was normal.
The next morning, she covered it with a blanket.
She never removed it again.
Years later, when she moved, she left the mirror behind.
The new owner returned it.
