Chapter 12 - THE VOICE FROM THE BABY MONITOR
Jessica’s baby monitor turned on by itself one night.
She heard static.
Then a woman’s voice.
“Take him out of the room.”
Jessica froze.
Her baby was sleeping peacefully.
She checked the monitor.
Nobody was visible.
The voice came again.
“Now.”
Jessica picked up her son and left the room.
Seconds later, part of the ceiling collapsed onto the crib.
Jessica couldn’t breathe.
She called the police.
Later, firefighters discovered a serious structural problem above the nursery.
But the strangest part was the recording.
Jessica replayed it.
There was no woman’s voice.
Only static.
She asked her husband if he had heard anything.
He hadn’t.
Jessica kept the recording anyway.
