Chapter 11 - THE HOUSE NUMBER
Kevin kept receiving letters addressed to a house number that didn’t exist.
His house was 216.
At first, he assumed it was a mistake.
Then the letters started arriving every Friday.
Always handwritten.
Always without a return address.
One evening, Kevin noticed something strange.
The house across the street suddenly had the number 214.
He blinked.
The number changed back to 216.
He took a picture.
The photo showed 214.
Kevin went inside.
That night, someone knocked on his door.
When he opened it, nobody was there.
On the porch was another letter.
This time it contained only one sentence:
“Don’t move across the street.”
The next morning, the house across the street was empty.
