Chapter 4 - THE RED UMBRELLA

Claire found an old red umbrella in the basement of her new house.
She didn’t remember buying it.
Her husband said it probably belonged to the previous owners.
One rainy evening, Claire left the umbrella beside the front door.
The next morning, it was gone.
She found it upstairs.
Inside her bedroom.
Claire thought her husband was joking.
He wasn’t.
The umbrella kept moving.
Kitchen.
Hallway.
Bedroom.
Every morning, it appeared somewhere different.
Then Claire noticed something.
Whenever the umbrella appeared near a window, someone was standing outside.
Always at a distance.
Always holding their face down.
One night, Claire finally opened the window.
Nobody was there.
But written on the fogged glass were four words:
“Don’t open the door.”
Claire stepped backward.
Then someone knocked.
May you like
Three times.
