Chapter 2 - THE UNKNOWN CALLER

Daniel’s morning routine had never changed.
7:15.
Keys.
Coffee.
Car.
Work.
That Tuesday, everything was normal.
Until his phone rang.
UNKNOWN CALLER.
Daniel answered.
“Hello?”
Silence.
Then he heard something strange.
Breathing.
Very quiet.
Very close.
“Who is this?”
Nothing.
The call ended.
Daniel stared at his phone.
He almost ignored it.
Instead, he turned around and went back inside to grab his coffee.
Twenty seconds later, he heard a crash.
He ran to the window.
A pickup truck had lost control and slammed into his car.
Daniel didn’t move.
His phone was still in his hand.
The call log showed:
7:16 AM — UNKNOWN CALLER
That night, Daniel tried calling the number back.
A recording answered:
“This number is not in service.”
He went to bed thinking it was nothing.
At 2:13 AM, his phone rang again.
Unknown caller.
This time, Daniel didn’t answer.
A few seconds later, a text appeared.
Four words.
DON’T LEAVE YET.
Daniel stared at the message.
Then he looked toward the bedroom window.
There was someone standing across the street.
Watching his house.
When Daniel blinked…
May you like
the person was gone.
