Chapter 12 - THE CHILD AT THE BUS STOP

Every morning, an old man named Robert saw the same little girl standing at the bus stop.
She wore a yellow raincoat.
She never got on the bus.
She simply stood there.
One rainy morning, Robert finally asked:
“Are you waiting for someone?”
The girl looked at him.
“My dad.”
“What does he look like?”
She pointed across the street.
Robert looked.
Nobody.
When he turned back…
the girl was gone.
That afternoon, Robert mentioned her to a neighbor.
The neighbor went silent.
“You saw her too?”
Robert asked what she meant.
The neighbor told him a little girl had died near that bus stop many years earlier.
She had been wearing a yellow raincoat.
Robert laughed nervously.
“That’s impossible.”
The next morning, he returned to the bus stop.
The girl was there.
This time, she wasn’t looking across the street.
She was looking directly at Robert.
And she said:
May you like
“Thank you for waiting.”
