Chapter 7 - THE BROTHER WHO KNEW THE TRUTH
The entire Westwood family gathered inside Adrian’s office.
Nobody celebrated anymore.
The engagement party was forgotten.
The only thing left was the truth.
Adrian placed the photograph on the desk.
“Why were you with Madison the night Claire died?”
Caleb’s face hardened.
“I wasn’t.”
Adrian pushed the photo toward him.
“Don’t lie to me.”
Caleb looked at it.
His silence was an answer.
Margaret immediately stepped forward.
“Adrian, this is enough.”
He turned toward his mother.
“No.”
His voice shook with anger.
“This has gone on long enough.”
Margaret looked hurt.
“I was trying to protect you.”
Adrian laughed quietly.
“Protect me?”
He pointed at the folder.
“You protected the people who destroyed my marriage.”
Madison started crying.
“You think I killed Claire?”
Nobody answered.
That silence hurt her more than words.
Adrian looked at her.
“I don’t know what you did.”
He paused.
“But I know Claire was afraid of you.”
Madison wiped her tears.
“You’re choosing a dead woman’s accusations over me?”
Adrian’s expression changed.
“No.”
He looked at the photograph.
“I’m choosing my wife’s final warning.”
Then Caleb finally spoke.
“Claire found something.”
Everyone looked at him.
Adrian froze.
“What?”
Caleb looked away.
“She found out Madison wasn’t just involved with Westwood Holdings.”
Adrian stepped forward.
“Then what was she involved with?”
Caleb hesitated.
“An offshore company.”
Natalie frowned.
“What does that mean?”
Caleb looked at Adrian.
“She was moving money.”
Adrian’s blood ran cold.
“How much?”
Caleb swallowed.
“Enough to destroy the company.”
A loud noise came from outside.
Everyone turned.
Security guards rushed into the hallway.
“Mr. Westwood!”
Adrian walked out.
“What happened?”
The guard looked nervous.
“Someone tried to leave.”
“Who?”
The guard hesitated.
Then answered.
“Rachel Bennett.”
Adrian froze.
The maid.
Emma’s mother.

The woman who brought the warning.
Why was she trying to run?
