Chapter 4 - THE WOMAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The room erupted.
Madison started crying.
“I loved Claire.”
Nobody believed her.
Not anymore.
Adrian stared at her.
“You knew about the recording.”
“No.”
“You knew about the closet.”
“No.”
“Then why did Claire mention your name?”
Madison had no answer.
That silence was enough.
Adrian walked closer.
“Three years ago, Claire called me.”
Madison looked up.
“She said she needed to tell me something about you.”
Madison’s face changed.
Just slightly.
But Adrian saw it.
“You remember that call.”
“No.”
“You do.”
She stepped back.
“Adrian, you’re angry.”
“No.”
He shook his head.
“I’m finally thinking clearly.”
Then Adrian’s phone rang.
Unknown number.
He answered.
A distorted voice spoke.
“Stop looking.”
Adrian froze.
“Who is this?”
“You found Claire’s message.”
Everyone went silent.
The voice continued.
“If you want to know why your wife died…”
A pause.
“Open the second compartment.”
The call ended.
Adrian immediately turned back toward the closet.
“The second compartment?” Natalie whispered.
May you like
Claire’s closet had another secret.
One nobody knew about.
