Chapter 4 - The Enemy Inside the House
The police arrived twenty minutes later.
Not because Julian called them.
Because someone else did.
Someone who wanted the truth exposed.
Julian sat silently while officers searched the suite.
Arthur stood beside Elara.
Protecting her.
But his mind was full of questions.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Elara looked down.
“I was afraid.”
“Afraid of Julian?”
She nodded.
“But also afraid you wouldn’t believe me.”
Arthur’s heart broke.
“You are my daughter.”
“I should have protected you.”
Across the room…
Julian watched them.
Then he smiled.
A cold, dangerous smile.
“You still think I’m the villain.”
Nobody answered.
Julian looked at Elara.
“But you forgot one thing.”
“What?”
“You weren’t the only one hiding secrets.”
Elara froze.
“What does that mean?”
Julian pulled out his phone.
He opened a folder.
Inside were dozens of photos.
Documents.
Messages.
And one name appeared on every file.
Arthur.
Eleanor gasped.
“What did you do?”
Julian looked at Arthur.
“You want the truth?”
“Fine.”
“Your family destroyed mine first.”
Arthur stared at him.
“That’s a lie.”
“Is it?”
Julian opened the final document.
And handed it over.
Arthur read it.
His face slowly changed.
Because the signature at the bottom…
Was his own.
A signature he did not remember making.
Eleanor whispered:
“Arthur…”
“What did you do?”
Arthur had no answer.
