Chapter 3 - The Woman Who Knew Too Much

Victoria entered the bridal suite slowly.
Nobody recognized her.
But Julian did.
His entire body froze.
“Where have you been?”
His voice was low.
Victoria smiled sadly.
“Running.”
“From you.”
Arthur stepped forward.
“Someone explain what is happening.”
Victoria placed the envelope on the table.
“This belongs to Elara.”
Elara looked confused.
“What is it?”
“Your father’s final message.”
Her hands trembled.
“My father wrote this?”
Victoria nodded.
“He knew something terrible was going to happen.”
Julian interrupted.
“Don’t listen to her.”
Arthur turned sharply.
“Why?”
“Because you look scared.”
Julian’s face hardened.
“I’m not scared.”
Victoria opened the envelope.
Inside was a handwritten letter.
Elara read the first line.
And immediately began crying.
“My daughter…”
Her voice broke.
“If you are reading this, it means I failed to protect you.”
Arthur felt his chest tighten.
The letter continued.
“Never trust the man who stands beside you pretending to love you.”
Everyone looked at Julian.
Victoria whispered:
“Your father knew Julian was planning something.”
Julian suddenly grabbed the letter.
But Arthur pushed him back.
“Don’t touch anything.”
For the first time…
Julian looked powerless.
Then his phone rang.
He answered.
His expression changed instantly.
“What?”
A pause.
“No.”
“That’s impossible.”
Everyone watched him.
“What happened?”
Julian slowly lowered the phone.
His voice was almost a whisper.
“My private bank accounts…”
“They were frozen.”
Arthur stared at him.
“By who?”
Julian looked at Elara.
And said the words nobody expected.
“By your father.”

Everyone froze.
Because Elara’s dead father had just destroyed Julian from beyond the grave.
