Chapter 6 - The Hidden Room Under Terminal B23

Richard Harrison had spent his entire life controlling situations.

Markets.

Companies.

Negotiations.

Enemies.

But now he was standing in an airport security room, staring at a screen that showed nothing but static.

The girl who saved his son had vanished.

And nobody knew how.

“Show me the cameras again.”

Richard’s voice was calm.

Too calm.

The security officer pressed the replay button.

The screen showed Lily standing beside Ethan.

Then the lights went out.

Three seconds of darkness.

When the emergency lights returned…

Lily was gone.

Richard watched the footage again.

And again.

Then he noticed something.

“Stop.”

The officer froze the video.

Richard pointed at the corner of the screen.

“There.”

A shadow moved behind the service door.

Someone had opened it during the blackout.

“That door was locked,” the officer said.

Richard looked at him.

“Then someone had the key.”

The room became silent.

Because only a few people had access.

Airport management.

Security supervisors.

And the private medical team assigned to Ethan.

Richard slowly turned.

“Check everyone who touched my son today.”

The officer nodded.

Then another guard rushed inside.

“Mr. Harrison.”

“We found something.”

Richard followed him through a restricted hallway beneath the terminal.

Behind an old maintenance door was a small hidden room.

Inside were files.

Medical equipment.

And photographs.

Photographs of Ethan.

Photographs of Lily.

Photographs taken long before today.

Richard picked up one picture.

It showed Lily standing outside a hospital.

She was holding the hand of a little boy.

Her brother.

Behind them stood a familiar figure.

The same person from the airport photograph.

Colin Dray.

Richard’s expression hardened.

“He knew her.”

The officer nodded.

“For years.”

Then Richard found another document.

A medical report.

The patient name was not Ethan.

It was Lily’s brother.

And the final page contained one sentence.

Richard read it slowly.

“Experimental treatment canceled due to financial interference.”

His hands tightened.

Someone had stopped a child from getting help.

Someone had made sure Lily’s brother never survived.

Then Richard heard a sound.

A small movement behind him.

He turned.

Nobody was there.

But on the floor was Lily’s broken backpack.

And inside it…

Was a handwritten note.

Richard opened it.

The message had only six words.

“Ask your wife about my brother.”
