Chapter 2 - The Poor Girl Who Knew Too Much

Security guards rushed forward.
“Stop her!”
Colin shouted.
“She cannot touch that equipment!”
But Richard raised his hand.
Everyone froze.
The billionaire stared at the little girl kneeling beside his son.
Something about her confidence stopped him.
“What is your name?”
The girl did not look away from Ethan.
“Lily.”
“Lily what?”
She hesitated.
Then answered softly.
“Lily Carter.”
Richard noticed something strange.
She was not afraid of him.
Not even a little.
Most adults became nervous around Richard Harrison.
But this seven-year-old girl looked at him like he was just another worried father.
“Lily, what are you doing?”
Richard asked.
“Saving your son.”
The answer was simple.
Almost too simple.
Lily carefully adjusted the equipment.
Then she removed a small piece of tape from the side panel.
Colin’s face changed.
“How did you know that was there?”
Lily looked at him.
“Because it shouldn’t be there.”
A doctor finally arrived.
Dr. Samuel Reed pushed through the crowd.
“What happened?”
Richard pointed toward Ethan.
“This girl says someone changed his medical settings.”
The doctor looked confused.
Then he checked the equipment.
His expression slowly disappeared.
“What?”
Richard stepped closer.
“What is it?”
Dr. Reed swallowed.
“The settings were altered.”
Everyone went silent.
Colin immediately shook his head.
“That’s impossible.”
Dr. Reed looked at him.
“No.”
“It’s not impossible.”
“It happened.”
Richard’s eyes became cold.
Someone had touched his son’s medical system.
Someone had tried to hurt Ethan.
The airport suddenly felt different.
This was no longer an accident.
It was an attack.
Richard turned toward security.
“Lock every exit.”
Colin looked shocked.
“Sir?”
“Nobody leaves.”
The guards immediately followed the order.
Passengers started whispering.
The little girl remained beside Ethan.
Richard looked at her.
“How did you know?”
Lily looked down.
Her fingers tightened around her worn backpack.
“Because my brother had the same machine.”
Richard froze.
“What brother?”
Lily slowly looked up.
“The one who died.”
The words hit harder than any accusation.
Richard’s expression changed.
“What happened to him?”
Lily looked at Ethan.
May you like
“Someone made a mistake.”
“And nobody listened.”
