Chapter 5 - THE WOMAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The wedding was no longer a wedding.
It was an investigation.
Guests who arrived to celebrate were now recording everything on their phones.
Reporters outside the ballroom noticed something was wrong.
Inside, Eleanor stood completely still.
She was not crying.
She was not apologizing.
She was calculating.
Because Eleanor Whitmore had survived every scandal for thirty years.
And she was not going to lose tonight.
She looked at Sofia.
A small child.
A child who had walked into her world and destroyed everything.
“You don’t understand what you started.”
Sofia looked back.
“My mom understood.”
The bride stepped away from Eleanor.
“I need answers.”
Eleanor turned.
“You believe a child?”
The bride looked at the screen.
Then at the photograph.
Then back at Eleanor.
“I believe your reaction.”
That sentence hurt more than the accusation.
Because everyone knew.
Eleanor had reacted.
The woman who never lost control had lost it.
The screen suddenly changed again.
A new message appeared.
Everyone looked up.
This time it was not from Sofia’s mother.
It was from someone else.
A name appeared.
A name nobody expected.
"ELEANOR, YOU FORGOT ABOUT ME."
Eleanor’s face turned completely pale.
The guests noticed.
The bride noticed.
Even Sofia looked confused.
Because her mother had never mentioned this person.
The ballroom doors suddenly opened.
A figure stood outside.
Someone Eleanor believed had disappeared forever.
And the stranger said:
“You ruined one family.”
A pause.
“Now everyone will see what you did to mine.”
May you like
The entire ballroom held its breath.
Because Sofia’s secret was only the beginning.
