Chapter 4 - THE SECRET ON THE BIG SCREEN

The screen continued loading.

A video file appeared.

Nobody moved.

Nobody spoke.

The entire wedding was frozen.

The bride stared at Eleanor.

“You knew about this?”

Eleanor ignored her.

Her eyes stayed locked on the screen.

The guests began whispering.

“What is happening?”

“Who is that girl?”

“Why does Eleanor look terrified?”

The video started.

A woman appeared.

She looked exhausted.

But determined.

Sofia immediately covered her mouth.

“Mom…”

The woman on the screen looked directly into the camera.

“If Sofia is watching this…”

She paused.

“Then I didn’t get the chance to tell the truth myself.”

The ballroom became colder.

Eleanor’s face tightened.

The woman continued.

“Eleanor Whitmore wants everyone to believe she saved my family.”

A pause.

“But she destroyed it.”

Gasps filled the room.

The bride slowly looked at Eleanor.

“What did you do?”

Eleanor finally spoke.

“Turn it off.”

Nobody moved.

“Turn it off now.”

But the screen continued.

The woman revealed documents.

Photos.

Records.

Names.

Proof.

Sofia stood below the screen, watching silently.

She had carried this secret alone.

Waiting for this moment.

Then the video showed one final image.

A document.

Signed by Eleanor.

The bride stepped closer.

“No…”

Her voice cracked.

“That signature…”

She looked at Eleanor.

“That’s yours.”

Eleanor said nothing.

May you like

Because the truth had already entered the room.

And everyone had seen it.
