Vanessa was released on temporary bail.
The media surrounded her immediately.
But instead of apologizing…
she attacked.
“She is lying,” Vanessa told reporters.
“She is using her power to destroy innocent people.”
The public was confused.
Some people believed her.

Then she released a video.
A carefully edited video.
It showed me leaving Lily during my mission.
It showed Lily crying at the door.
It showed my daughter reaching for me.
But it cut away before showing the reason I left.

The truth.
The internet exploded.
People called me a bad mother.
A woman who cared more about work than her child.
I watched the video silently.
Daniel looked angry.
