Chapter 3 - The Woman Andrew Weston Underestimated

Emma arrived in Switzerland three days later.
The world believed she had disappeared.
And that was exactly what she wanted.
News channels exploded.
“Andrew Weston’s Pregnant Wife Vanishes After Charity Ball Scandal.”
“Socialite Emma Weston Missing.”
“Was The Weston Marriage A Lie?”
Andrew watched every report.
Every headline.
Every rumor.
And with every passing hour…
His anger grew.
Not because Emma left.
But because she disappeared without asking permission.
For years, Andrew controlled everything.
His company.
His reputation.
His relationships.
Even Emma’s schedule.
But now she was somewhere he could not reach.
And that terrified him.
At Weston Holdings headquarters, Andrew entered a private meeting room.
Several executives were waiting.
One man stood immediately.
“Andrew, we need to discuss the media situation.”
Andrew dropped a newspaper onto the table.
“I know.”
“The board is concerned.”
“They should be.”
The executives exchanged nervous looks.
Because Andrew Weston was never nervous.
Not even during billion-dollar negotiations.
But today…
He looked afraid.
One executive asked:
“Where is Mrs. Weston?”
Andrew stared at him.
“I don’t know.”
The room became silent.
That answer shocked everyone.
Because everyone knew one thing.
Andrew Weston always knew everything.
---
Across the ocean…
Emma stood inside a massive estate overlooking the Swiss mountains.
She had spent three days learning the truth.
And every answer created more questions.
Victoria sat across from her.
“You need to understand something.”
Emma looked up.
“What?”
“Your grandfather did not create that trust to make you rich.”
“Then why?”
“To protect you.”
Emma looked outside.
“From who?”
Victoria hesitated.
“From people who wanted control over your family’s fortune.”
Emma whispered:
“And Andrew?”
Victoria looked at her.
“Andrew married you for a reason.”
The words felt like a knife.
Emma shook her head.
“No.”
“Emma.”
“No.”
She stood.
“You are telling me my entire marriage was a lie?”
Victoria did not answer.
Because she knew the truth hurt more when someone confirmed it.
Emma walked toward the window.
She remembered Andrew’s first proposal.
The restaurant.
The flowers.
The promises.
She remembered believing she had found the perfect man.
But maybe she had only found someone who knew exactly what she wanted to hear.
A notification appeared on her phone.
New message.
From Andrew.
Emma stared.
She almost deleted it.
Then she opened it.
The message contained one sentence.
You have no idea what you just started.
Emma’s face changed.
A second message arrived.
Come home before you destroy everything.
Victoria noticed her expression.
“What happened?”
Emma handed her the phone.
Victoria read the messages.
Then her expression turned serious.
“He knows.”
“Knows what?”
Victoria looked at Emma.
“That you found the truth.”
A cold silence filled the room.
Emma looked toward the mountains.
For the first time, she understood.
Leaving Andrew was only the beginning.
Because Andrew Weston was not trying to bring his wife home.
He was trying to stop her from discovering who she really was.
Then Victoria’s assistant suddenly rushed into the room.
“Ms. Hale.”
Everyone turned.
“What happened?”
The assistant looked at Emma.
“We have a problem.”
Emma stood.
“What problem?”
The assistant placed a tablet on the table.
On the screen was a breaking news report.
The headline made Emma’s blood freeze.
WESTON HOLDINGS ANNOUNCES EMMA WESTON IS MENTALLY UNSTABLE AND CURRENTLY UNDER MEDICAL EVALUATION.
Emma stared.
Her hands slowly tightened.
Because Andrew had not come after her.
May you like
He had done something worse.
He was trying to destroy her before she could fight back.
