Chapter 6 - THE WOMAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

Clara Morgan had always been invisible.

That was exactly how she wanted it.

She entered rooms quietly.

She listened more than she spoke.

She remembered everything.

For three years, Alexander Sterling trusted her completely.

She knew his schedule.

His business strategies.

His personal habits.

But she never told him the truth.

Not once.

Now, everything was changing.

Because Alexander knew.

And he wanted answers.

---

Clara entered Alexander's office that afternoon.

She immediately noticed something different.

The atmosphere.

The silence.

The way Alexander looked at her.

“Mr. Sterling?”

He closed the door.

“Sit down, Clara.”

Her expression changed slightly.

She knew.

The moment she sat down, she knew the secret was no longer hidden.

“How long have you known?”

Her hands tightened.

“Known what?”

Alexander placed the photograph on the desk.

Her face became pale.

The question was answered before she spoke.

“You know.”

Clara looked down.

“Yes.”

“How long?”

“Since before I joined this company.”

Alexander felt betrayed.

“Three years.”

She nodded.

“You came here knowing who I was.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

Clara looked up.

Her eyes were filled with something Alexander did not expect.

Pain.

“Because I wanted to understand the brother I never had.”

The answer surprised him.

“You had access to everything.”

“I did.”

“Why didn't you take anything?”

Clara shook her head.

“Because I didn't come for money.”

Alexander studied her.

“Then why?”

She took a deep breath.

“Because my mother spent her entire life believing your father abandoned us.”

Silence.

“She died believing the Sterling family stole her future.”

Alexander looked away.

“And you wanted revenge.”

Clara didn't answer.

That was enough.

---

Emily watched the conversation from outside the office.

Not because she was spying.

Because Alexander asked her to be there.

He wanted her opinion.

The woman who had been attacked by his family was now the person he trusted most.

When Clara left, Emily entered.

“She is hurt.”

Alexander looked at her.

“You believe her?”

“I believe she has pain.”

“That doesn't answer my question.”

Emily sat beside him.

“Pain can make people do terrible things.”

She paused.

“But it can also make people search for answers.”

Alexander looked thoughtful.

“You think she is like Victoria?”

Emily shook her head.

“No.”

“She is different.”

“How?”

“Victoria wanted to destroy you because she wanted power.”

Emily looked toward the closed door.

“Clara looks like someone who wanted to know why she was forgotten.”

---

But neither of them noticed one important detail.

Victoria had been watching.

And she knew something they didn't.

Clara Morgan was not the only person with secrets.

Because the documents she gave Alexander were incomplete.

She had removed one page.

One page that revealed the real reason their father hid Clara.

One page that could destroy everyone.

Victoria smiled as she held the missing document.

“Soon,” she whispered.

“They will all understand.”

May you like

“The Sterling empire was never built on success.”

“It was built on a lie.”
