Chapter 3 - THE FALL OF A STERLING

Three days later, the Sterling family name dominated the news.

Not because of a business achievement.

Not because of a new acquisition.

Because of a scandal.

The headlines were everywhere.

“Sterling Heiress Faces Legal Challenge.”

“Family Trust Under Investigation.”

“Billionaire Alexander Sterling Takes Action Against Relative.”

Victoria watched the reports from her penthouse apartment.

Every screen showed the same image.

Her family name.

Her reputation.

Her carefully created social status.

Crashing.

She threw the remote across the room.

“This was supposed to destroy her.”

Her voice trembled.

“She was supposed to leave.”

Her assistant stood silently.

Victoria had spent years controlling people.

But now nobody knew what to say.

Because everyone understood something.

The woman who had always controlled the room had finally lost control.

Meanwhile, Emily returned to the mansion.

But something felt different.

The same walls.

The same furniture.

The same beautiful view.

Yet it no longer felt like a place where she needed permission to exist.

Alexander found her standing in the grand hall.

The broken items had been carefully removed.

New frames had not replaced them.

Instead, the damaged pieces were being restored.

“You fixed them.”

Emily turned.

“I wanted you to see that what was broken can still have value.”

She smiled sadly.

“But some things cannot be repaired.”

Alexander walked closer.

“Then we build something new.”

Emily looked at him.

For the first time since the attack, she felt peace.

But neither of them knew the battle was not finished.

Because Victoria had one secret left.

A secret that could change everything.

A secret involving Alexander's past.

A secret that could destroy the Sterling empire from inside.

And as Victoria stared at an old photograph hidden inside her safe...

She whispered one sentence.

“If I cannot take his wife away…”

Her fingers tightened around the picture.

“I will take away the reason he protects her.”

The next chapter would reveal the secret that had been buried for twenty years.

And it would change the Sterling family forever.
