Chapter 13 - The Man Who Controlled Everything

Richard Bennett had always looked like a respectable man.
A successful businessman.
A loving father.
A powerful figure.
But Ethan discovered something that night.
Some monsters did not look dangerous.
They wore expensive suits.
They smiled politely.
And they shook your hand.
Richard stood in the security room.
Completely calm.
“You caused quite a situation, Ethan.”
Ethan stared at him.
“You threatened my son.”
Richard smiled.
“I protected my family.”
“Your family?”
Ethan stepped closer.
“You mean your money.”
Richard’s smile disappeared.
“You have no idea what you are involved in.”
“Then explain.”
Richard looked toward Victoria.
“You were never supposed to know.”
Victoria looked away.
Ethan noticed.
She was afraid of her father.
Not because he was angry.
Because she knew what he was capable of.
Richard placed a folder on the table.
“You think Leo is the reason this happened?”
Ethan opened the folder.
Inside were old company documents.
Ownership records.
Hidden accounts.
And one name appeared repeatedly.
Richard Bennett.
“What is this?”
Richard smiled.
“Insurance.”
Ethan looked confused.
Then he saw the final document.
A legal agreement.
Signed years ago.
It stated that if Ethan disappeared…
Control of his company would transfer to a hidden partner.
Richard.
Ethan finally understood.
This was never about Leo.
Leo was only the excuse.
The real target was Ethan.
His life.
His company.
His future.
Richard stepped closer.
“You should have stayed blind.”
Ethan looked at him.
“No.”
He closed the folder.
“I should have looked sooner.”
Richard laughed.
“You think you can defeat me?”
Ethan calmly answered:
“I already started.”
Richard’s expression changed.
“What did you do?”
Ethan smiled slightly.
“Everything you tried to hide…”
“I sent copies of.”
The room went silent.
Because Ethan had not been investigating.
He had been preparing.
Then Richard’s phone rang.
He answered.
His face changed instantly.
“What do you mean the accounts are frozen?”
Ethan watched him.

And for the first time…
Richard looked afraid.
