Chapter 14 - THE LAST FIGHT FOR THE TRUTH

The doors of the abandoned building opened.

Richard Cole walked inside.

Calm.

Confident.

Like a man who had never lost.

Behind him were several men.

Daniel immediately recognized him.

The face behind everything.

The person who stole four years of his life.

Richard smiled.

“Daniel.”

Nobody answered.

Richard looked around.

“So many emotional reunions.”

His eyes moved toward Camila.

“You must be the woman who caused all this trouble.”

Camila stared at him.

“No.”

Her voice was calm.

“You caused all this.”

Richard laughed.

“You still don’t understand.”

He looked around.

“The world belongs to people who take what they want.”

Daniel stepped forward.

“You destroyed your own family.”

Richard shrugged.

“Families are temporary.”

“Power is permanent.”

Adrian looked disgusted.

“You were my father’s closest friend.”

“And he was too weak.”

The words were cold.

“He cared about people.”

“He trusted people.”

“That’s why he lost.”

Camila looked at him.

“And that’s why you’ll lose.”

Richard smiled.

“You think being good wins?”

“No.”

Camila held Isabella close.

“I think the truth wins.”

For the first time

Richard looked uncertain.

Because he knew.

The evidence existed.

The documents existed.

The truth was no longer hidden.

“You should have stayed on that bench.”

The sentence made Daniel angry.

But Camila stopped him.

She looked directly at Richard.

“Do you know what happened on that bench?”

Richard said nothing.

“I sat there with my daughter.”

“In the cold.”

“With no money.”

“With no idea how we would survive.”

Her voice became stronger.

“And every single day, I got up.”

Richard stared.

“Because my daughter needed me.”

“You thought destroying me would make me weak.”

Camila stepped forward.

“But you created someone who cannot be broken.”

Nobody spoke.

Even Daniel looked at her with admiration.

The woman he loved had transformed.

Richard tried to smile.

But it was gone.

Because he finally understood.

He had underestimated her.

Suddenly, police vehicles arrived outside.

Richard looked shocked.

“What?”

Adrian held up his phone.

“Everything you just said was recorded.”

Richard’s face changed.

“You planned this?”

Daniel shook his head.

“No.”

“You did.”

“You spent years believing nobody would ever challenge you.”

“But you forgot something.”

Richard stared.

“What?”

Daniel looked at Camila.

“You forgot there were still people who believed in the truth.”

The police entered.

Richard Cole was arrested.

The evidence against him was overwhelming.

Years of manipulation.

Fraud.

Threats.

The attempted murder of Daniel.

Everything finally came out.

Months later

The Hayes family empire changed forever.

The company was rebuilt.

Not on fear.

Not on control.

But on honesty.

Adrian refused the position everyone expected him to take.

Instead, he created a foundation.

A foundation that helped families who had lost everything.

Families like Camila’s.

May you like

Because he never forgot the woman on the bench.

The woman who reminded him that wealth meant nothing if you ignored people who needed help.
