Chapter 13 - THE MAN WHO VANISHED WITH THE TRUTH

Nobody moved.

The abandoned room became completely silent.

Daniel stared at the man standing in front of him.

Older.

Exhausted.

But alive.

Thomas Reed.

The man whose name had appeared in every mystery.

The man everyone believed was dead.

Daniel stepped forward.

“You were alive this entire time?”

Thomas lowered his eyes.

“Yes.”

Camila looked at the files scattered around the room.

“Why?”

Thomas looked at her.

And the pain in his face answered before his words did.

“Because I was afraid.”

Daniel’s expression hardened.

“Afraid?”

“You let me believe my life was destroyed.”

“You let Camila suffer.”

“You let my daughter grow up without me.”

Thomas accepted the anger.

“I know.”

“You have every right to hate me.”

Daniel clenched his fists.

“Then explain.”

Thomas slowly walked toward the table.

He opened one of the old folders.

Inside were documents.

Original documents.

Not copies.

Not altered versions.

The truth.

“Four years ago, I discovered Elena was not working alone.”

Daniel froze.

“What?”

Thomas nodded.

“She had help.”

“Someone much more powerful.”

Camila looked at the photograph.

“The lawyer.”

Thomas looked at her.

“Yes.”

“Richard Cole.”

The name meant nothing to Camila.

But Adrian immediately recognized it.

“My father’s attorney.”

Thomas nodded.

“He controlled every legal document in the Hayes family.”

“He controlled the contracts.”

“The inheritance.”

“The company transfers.”

“He knew every weakness.”

Daniel looked confused.

“But why would he help Elena?”

Thomas smiled sadly.

“Because Elena wanted power.”

“Richard wanted control.”

The pieces finally started connecting.

Elena was the face.

Richard was the architect.

“He convinced Elena that Daniel was the only obstacle.”

“He told her removing Daniel would make her the rightful heir.”

Thomas continued.

“But Richard had another plan.”

Adrian stepped closer.

“What plan?”

Thomas looked at him.

“To take the entire Hayes empire for himself.”

Everyone went silent.

The family war was never about money alone.

It was about someone waiting for the perfect moment to steal everything.

Daniel looked at Thomas.

“Why didn’t you tell anyone?”

Thomas looked ashamed.

“Because I tried.”

“I went to your father.”

Victor believed him.

But before he could act

Richard found out.

“He threatened my family.”

“He threatened my children.”

“He told me if I spoke
”

“They would disappear.”

Camila felt a painful silence.

“So you ran.”

Thomas nodded.

“I hated myself every day.”

“But I thought staying alive was the only way to eventually expose them.”

Daniel looked away.

For a moment, he remembered something.

The accident.

The night everything changed.

“Wait.”

He looked at Thomas.

“You said you found something.”

Thomas nodded.

“I found the person who caused your accident.”

Daniel’s heart stopped.

“Who?”

Thomas reached into the folder.

He pulled out a photograph.

A man standing beside a car.

Daniel recognized him immediately.

The driver.

The person who had followed him that night.

“It was Richard.”

The room exploded with emotion.

Adrian stepped back.

“My father’s attorney tried to kill Daniel?”

Thomas nodded.

“He wanted Daniel gone before he exposed everything.”

Daniel stared at the photograph.

Four years.

Four years stolen.

Because one man wanted an empire.

Camila reached for Daniel’s hand.

She felt him shaking.

Not from fear.

From realizing how close he came to losing everything forever.

Then Thomas pulled out another document.

“There is one more thing.”

Everyone looked at him.

“What?”

Thomas placed the document on the table.

“It proves Richard planned everything.”

Adrian looked at the paper.

Then his expression changed.

“This is enough to destroy him.”

But before anyone could celebrate

A loud sound came from outside.

A car engine.

Then another.

Thomas looked toward the window.

His face changed.

“They found us.”

Daniel immediately moved toward Camila and Isabella.

“Stay behind me.”

The woman who once needed protection.

The mother who slept on a bench.

The person who had lost everything.

She looked at him.

“No.”

Daniel stopped.

“I’m not hiding anymore.”

Camila held Isabella’s hand.

“We face this together.”

The final battle was coming.
