Chapter 12 - THE LAST PERSON WHO KNEW THE TRUTH

Daniel stared at the letter for several minutes.

The words were simple.

But they carried a warning.

I know what really happened the night you disappeared.

Camila noticed his expression.

“What is it?”

Daniel folded the paper.

“Nothing.”

She immediately knew he was lying.

After everything they survived

They both learned one thing.

Secrets destroyed families.

“No more hiding.”

Daniel looked at her.

She was right.

He handed her the letter.

Camila read it.

Her expression changed.

“Who sent this?”

“I don’t know.”

Adrian was called immediately.

When he arrived, he studied the paper carefully.

“This handwriting
”

He paused.

“What?”

Adrian looked concerned.

“I’ve seen it before.”

Everyone waited.

“Where?”

Adrian looked at Daniel.

“On documents from four years ago.”

Daniel frowned.

“What documents?”

“The accident report.”

Silence.

Michael entered the room.

“You mean the original report?”

Adrian nodded.

“The one that disappeared.”

Camila looked confused.

“Why would someone hide an accident report?”

Nobody answered.

Because they were starting to understand.

The truth about Daniel’s disappearance was bigger than Elena.

Someone else was involved.

Someone who had been watching.

Someone who had remained hidden.

That night, Adrian reopened old records.

Hours passed.

Then he found something.

A name.

A name that made Daniel stand immediately.

“Thomas Reed.”

The former assistant.

The man who disappeared the same night Daniel vanished.

“The man who signed the letter.”

Adrian nodded.

“But that’s impossible.”

“Why?”

“Because Thomas Reed died three years ago.”

Everyone became silent.

Daniel looked at the screen.

“Then who sent this?”

Nobody knew.

Until Michael found a hidden message attached to the file.

Coordinates.

A location outside the city.

Adrian looked at Daniel.

“This could be a trap.”

Daniel looked at Camila.

“I know.”

“But I need answers.”

Camila wanted to stop him.

Every part of her wanted to protect the family they had finally rebuilt.

But she also understood.

Some wounds never healed without the truth.

“I’m coming with you.”

Daniel shook his head.

“No.”

She looked at him.

“I spent four years alone.”

Her voice became stronger.

“I’m not losing you again.”

Daniel realized she was right.

She was no longer the woman who waited for someone to save her.

She was the woman who saved herself.

The next morning, they drove to the location.

An abandoned building outside the city.

The place looked forgotten.

Broken windows.

Old walls.

Years of silence.

Daniel entered first.

Then Camila.

Inside, they found a room.

A room filled with files.

Photos.

Records.

Everything connected to the past.

Adrian picked up one folder.

Then froze.

“What?”

He slowly opened it.

Inside was a photograph.

A photograph of Elena.

But beside her

Was someone else.

Someone they thought had nothing to do with everything.

Victor Hayes’ personal lawyer.

The man who had controlled the family documents for years.

Daniel stared.

“No.”

Adrian looked at him.

“What?”

Daniel’s face turned pale.

“Father trusted him.”

Camila looked around the room.

The truth was much bigger than they imagined.

Elena was not the only person who wanted the family destroyed.

She was only a piece of the plan.

Then suddenly

A noise came from behind them.

Everyone turned.

A man stood in the doorway.

Older.

Tired.

Terrified.

Daniel stepped forward.

“Who are you?”

The man looked at him.

And whispered the words nobody expected.

“I’m Thomas Reed.”

The man who was supposed to be dead.

May you like

The man who knew everything.

And he had been hiding for four years.
