The entire city searched for Mia.
Cars moved through every street.
Private investigators checked every location.
Nobody had ever seen Damiano Verrone like this.
He was not hunting an enemy.
He was hunting for his daughter.
Rafael found the first clue.
A small blue ribbon.
Mia’s favorite ribbon.
It was left near an old abandoned building.
Damiano entered alone.
The place was dark.
Silent.
Empty.
“Mia?”
His voice echoed.

“Daddy?”

On the wall behind Mia was written:

Damiano stared at the words.
Then his phone rang.
Unknown number.
He answered.
A voice spoke.
“You finally understand.”
Damiano’s expression turned cold.
“Who are you?”
The person laughed.
“The person who knows the truth about Isabella’s death.”
Damiano froze.
“What truth?”
A pause.
Then the voice whispered:
“Your wife was not killed by your enemy.”
“Your wife was killed by someone standing beside you.”
The call ended.
Damiano looked at Mia.
Then toward the darkness.
