The hospital fell into chaos.
Emergency lights flashed.
Patients screamed.
Security alarms failed.
Emily grabbed Ethan’s hand.
Someone was coming.
Slow footsteps approached.
Ryan.
He entered the room.
“You should have stayed asleep.”
Emily stared at him.
“How could you?”
Ryan looked almost sad.
Almost.
“I loved you.”
“No.”
Emily shook her head.
“You loved what I gave you.”
Ryan stepped closer.
“You don’t understand.”
“I understand everything.”
For the first time, Ryan looked afraid.
Because Emily was no longer weak.
She was awake.
Then a shadow appeared behind him.
Claire.
She was holding a phone.
“I recorded everything.”
Ryan turned.
“You betrayed me?”
Claire pressed the button.
“I’m trying to survive.”
Ryan rushed toward her.
But before he reached her…
The door exploded open.
Police entered.
Ryan was finally caught.
But before being taken away, he smiled.
“You think this is over?”
Emily felt a chill.
