The witness arrived under police protection.
Her name was Laura.
She worked as Ryan’s assistant.
The moment she entered the room, Ryan lost control.
“You don’t know what you’re doing.”
Laura looked at him with anger.
“No, Ryan.”
Her voice shook.
“I finally know what you did.”
She revealed everything.
Ryan had been secretly drowning in debt.
He needed Emily’s inheritance.
He needed her company shares.
And he needed her gone.
“I thought he only wanted money,” Laura said.
“But when I saw the brakes…”
She covered her mouth.
“I knew I helped a monster.”
Emily felt tears forming.
A person she trusted had almost destroyed her.
But another truth appeared.
Ryan wasn’t alone.
Laura looked at Claire.
“She was there too.”
Claire closed her eyes.
The room exploded.
“You knew?”
Ethan whispered.
Claire cried.
“I didn’t know he would hurt her.”
Ms. Parker replied coldly.
“But you knew enough to stay.”
The words hurt.
Because they were true.
Then Emily’s monitor suddenly changed.
Doctors rushed in.
Everyone stepped away.
A doctor shouted:
“She’s waking up!”
For twelve days, Emily had been trapped.
Now her eyes slowly opened.
The first person she saw was Ethan.
“Mom?”
Her lips barely moved.
“Ethan…”
Her son broke down.
“She’s awake.”
