Chapter 12 - THE WOMAN DOMINIC REFUSED TO LOSE

Dominic Moretti had spent years building an empire.
But now he realized something.
Empires were easy to build.
Trust was not.
Anthony had betrayed him.
Vanessa had lied to him.
His father had hidden the truth.
And somehow, the only person who had been honest with him…
Was the woman everyone considered powerless.
Hannah.
That night, Dominic moved her to the private security wing.
She refused.
“I can protect myself.”
Dominic looked at her.
“I know.”
She frowned.
“Then why?”
“Because you shouldn’t have to.”
The words surprised her.
Nobody had said that to her before.
Not in eight years.
Not since her mother died.
The next morning, Dominic gathered his team.
“We find Anthony.”
Marco nodded.
“And if he refuses to talk?”
Dominic looked at the documents.
At the photographs.
At the names of people who had suffered.
“Then he learns the difference between power and cruelty.”
Before they could leave, Eleanor entered.
She looked older than yesterday.
“I owe you the truth.”
Dominic stared.
“You owe Hannah more.”
Eleanor accepted that.
“My husband didn’t start everything.”
Dominic froze.
“What?”
“There was someone above him.”
The room became silent.
“Who?”
Eleanor looked toward the window.
“The person who controlled the entire operation.”
Dominic stepped closer.
“Name.”
She hesitated.
Then whispered:
“Your grandfather.”
Nobody spoke.
Because the truth was impossible.
The man Dominic had spent his childhood admiring…
The man who built the Moretti legacy…
Was the beginning of everything.
Suddenly, the mansion alarms exploded.
Marco checked his phone.
“Boss.”
“What?”
His face turned serious.
“We have a problem.”
Dominic looked at him.
“Say it.”
Marco swallowed.
“Anthony isn’t running.”
“Where is he?”
A pause.
“He’s coming here.”
Dominic looked toward the entrance.
Outside the mansion gates, dozens of black vehicles stopped.
Security cameras showed armed men surrounding the property.
Hannah stood beside Dominic.
For the first time, she looked afraid.
Not for herself.
For him.
“Dominic.”
He looked at her.
“If something happens…”
He interrupted.
“No.”
She stared.
“You don’t know what I was going to say.”
“Yes, I do.”
His voice softened.
“And the answer is no.”
The front doors shook.
A voice came through the speakers.
Anthony Moretti.
“Dominic.”
A pause.
“Open the door.”
Dominic walked forward.
“You came to my home.”
He looked at Hannah.
“You threatened someone under my protection.”
Then he smiled coldly.
“Now you’re going to learn why that was your biggest mistake.”
May you like
The doors exploded open.
And the war for the Moretti family began.
