Chapter 6 - THE MAN WHO CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD

Michael Carter had spent ten years believing his brother was gone.
Daniel Carter.
The genius.
The failure.
The man who hated living in Michael’s shadow.
They built their company together.
Until one night everything collapsed.
Daniel disappeared.
A plane crash.
No survivors.
Case closed.
Or so Michael thought.
Now Frank was telling him something impossible.
“Daniel is alive?”
Frank nodded slowly.
“I saw the symbol before.”
Michael’s face hardened.
“You’re saying my own brother tried to kill my son?”
“I’m saying someone connected to him did.”
Michael looked through the hospital window.
Noah slept inside.
Tiny.
Fragile.
Alive.
A rage he had never felt before started burning inside him.
His own family.
His own blood.
Then Emily suddenly stood.
“Wait.”
Michael turned.
“What?”
She looked at the hallway.
“I know that symbol.”
Everyone stared.
“How?”
Emily’s face went pale.
“Because I saw it before.”
“When?”
She looked at Michael.
“Eight months ago.”
Michael stepped closer.
“Where?”
Emily whispered:
“In this house.”
The silence was unbearable.
“You’re telling me someone with that tattoo has been inside my home for eight months?”
Emily nodded.
Michael’s eyes narrowed.
“Who?”
Emily looked toward the elevator.
And slowly pointed.
“Your personal assistant.”
Michael froze.
“My assistant?”
“Yes.”
“Impossible.”
Emily shook her head.
“I saw the tattoo when he reached for something under his sleeve.”
Frank immediately grabbed his weapon.
Michael stopped him.
“No.”
Everyone looked at him.
“Not yet.”
Because Michael Carter understood one thing.
If someone inside his mansion had been planning this for eight months…
they wanted him to find out.
The question was why.
Then the hospital lights flickered.
Once.
Twice.
The hallway went dark.
A second later, every monitor inside Noah’s room started screaming.
Michael turned.
“Noah!”
He rushed through the door.
Doctors followed.
And standing beside Noah’s bed…
was a man wearing a black coat.
Michael stopped breathing.
Because he knew that face.
A face he had buried ten years ago.
Daniel Carter smiled.
May you like
“Hello, brother.”
