Chapter 11 - THE FILE THAT REVEALED EVERYTHING

Inés ran toward the security office.

Her team followed behind her.

“Show me the access logs.”

The technician quickly pulled up the information.

A list of names appeared on the screen.

Leandro.

The lawyer.

Bárbara.

Jimena.

And one unknown user.

“Who is that?” Inés asked.

The technician shook his head.

“I don’t know. The account is hidden.”

Inés stared at the screen.

Someone with enough knowledge had entered the system and deleted hospital records connected to the biggest secret in the Montalbán family.

This wasn’t panic.

This was preparation.

“They planned this,” she said.

Leandro stood beside her.

“How do we find them?”

Inés pointed at the screen.

“They made one mistake.”

“What?”

“They deleted the files.”

She looked at him.

“But they didn’t delete the backup.”

The technician restored a hidden copy.

Everyone waited.

The first document appeared.

A hospital record.

A baby born six years earlier.

The mother:

Mariana Torres.

The father:

Leandro Montalbán.

Leandro closed his eyes.

The truth was finally real.

But then another document appeared.

A second birth record.

Everyone became silent.

The mother’s name was different.

The baby’s name was different.

And at the bottom of the page was a handwritten note.

“Transfer completed.”

Inés frowned.

“Transfer to where?”

The technician opened the attached file.

A photograph appeared.

A baby bracelet.

The same bracelet Noa had described.

Leandro stepped closer.

Then he saw the date.

The room went quiet.

“That date…”

He looked at Mariana.

“That was the day my son disappeared.”

Mariana nodded.

“Yes.”

“But why was there another baby?”

Nobody answered.

Then Noa quietly spoke.

“Because someone wanted to hide one baby by using another.”

Everyone looked at her.

Even the adults were shocked by how clearly she understood.

Inés hugged her daughter.

But deep inside, she felt something else.

Fear.

Because the more they uncovered…

The more dangerous the truth became.

Suddenly, the security monitors went black.

Every screen in the office shut down.

Then a message appeared.

White letters against a dark screen.

“STOP SEARCHING.”

Everyone froze.

A second message appeared.

“If you continue, the next secret will destroy Inés Valcárcel.”

Inés stared at the words.

Because this was no longer about the Montalbán family.

Someone was threatening her.

May you like

And they knew exactly where to hurt her.

To be continued…
