Chapter 10 - The Night Solmere Fell Apart

The hidden room shook.
The security alarms continued screaming.
Charlotte stood surrounded by the evidence her mother died protecting.
And outside...
The people who wanted that evidence destroyed were coming closer.
Alexander checked his phone.
"No signal."
Marcus looked at the locked door.
"They cut communication."
Charlotte looked at Adrian through the security camera.
He stood outside.
Calm.
Confident.
Like he had already won.
"You really think you can erase me again?"
Adrian looked directly into the camera.
"I already did once."
Charlotte's expression hardened.
"You forged my death."
Adrian smiled.
"And everyone believed it."
Charlotte stepped closer to the screen.
"But now they know I am alive."
Adrian laughed.
"Do they?"
Charlotte frowned.
Then the lobby screens changed.
A breaking news report appeared.
"Unknown woman claiming to be Charlotte Vale causes disturbance at Solmere Hotel."
Charlotte froze.
The report showed her.
But the story was completely different.
They painted her as an impostor.
A woman trying to steal the Vale fortune.
The public reaction was already changing.
Marcus whispered:
"They prepared this."
Charlotte understood.
This was bigger than stealing a company.
They wanted to destroy her name.
Her identity.
Her credibility.
Adrian's voice came through the speakers.
"Nobody will believe you."
Charlotte looked at the screen.
Then smiled.
A calm smile.
The kind that appeared when she finally understood the game.
"You made one mistake."
Adrian frowned.
"What?"
Charlotte held up the evidence box.
"You thought my mother only left documents."
She looked at Alexander.
"How long until backup arrives?"
Alexander looked surprised.
Then checked his phone.
A tiny signal returned.
"Five minutes."
Adrian heard it.
His expression changed.
Charlotte continued.
"But you forgot something else."
She looked directly at the camera.
"My mother knew you would come for this room."
A pause.
"So she prepared a trap."
The hidden room lights suddenly turned on.
A small red indicator appeared.
Marcus stared.
"She installed surveillance."
Charlotte nodded.
"Not just surveillance."
She looked at the screen.
"Everything happening here..."
She smiled.
"Is being recorded."
For the first time that night...
Adrian looked afraid.
Because he finally understood.
He had spent six months planning Charlotte's disappearance.
But Evelyn Vale had spent six months preparing his downfall.

And now...
The entire world was about to see the truth.
