Chapter 3 - The Secret Behind The Perfect Marriage

I stared at Julian’s message for a full minute.

Then I removed the wedding ring.

Not because he demanded it.

Because I finally understood.

The ring was never a symbol of love to him.

It was a symbol of ownership.

I placed it on the table.

And for the first time…

I felt nothing.

No sadness.

No regret.

Only clarity.

But Julian wasn’t finished.

That evening, he appeared outside my parents’ house.

Not alone.

Victoria was with him.

And they brought something I never expected.

A lawyer.

I watched them from the window.

The same man who humiliated me that morning was now standing outside wearing a perfect suit.

Pretending to be the victim.

My mother looked at me.

“Elena…”

I nodded.

“I know.”

The doorbell rang.

My father opened the door.

Julian smiled politely.

“Mr. Carter.”

“I think there has been a misunderstanding.”

My father looked at him coldly.

“A misunderstanding?”

Julian nodded.

“Elena overreacted.”

Victoria immediately added.

“She’s emotional.”

“She needs time to adjust.”

I almost smiled.

They had already created the story.

The innocent husband.

The difficult wife.

The controlling mother-in-law who was only trying to help.

But they made one mistake.

They underestimated me.

I walked downstairs.

Everyone became silent.

Julian looked relieved.

“Elena.”

I looked at him.

“What do you want?”

He softened his voice.

“I want my wife back.”

Everyone expected me to cry.

Instead…

I asked one question.

“Which wife?”

Julian froze.

“The wife from yesterday?”

“Or the servant you wanted today?”

Victoria’s face changed.

“Enough.”

“No.”

I looked directly at her.

“Not enough.”

“Not even close.”

Then I placed a folder on the table.

Julian noticed it.

His expression changed.

“What is that?”

I opened the folder.

Inside were copies of every financial agreement.

Every document.

Every promise.

Every message.

Because before I married Julian…

I protected myself.

And now…

It was time for him to learn why.

“You wanted control.”

I looked at him.

“But you forgot something.”

Julian swallowed.

“What?”

I smiled.

“I was never powerless.”

And when I turned the first page toward him…

His face became completely pale.

Because the document in front of him revealed a secret he never knew.

May you like

A secret that could destroy everything his family had built.

To be continued...
