Chapter 3 - THE FAMILY THEY NEVER KNEW

I stared at the wedding planner.

“Explain.”

Her voice dropped.

“Chloe has been saying for months that you married Dominic for money.”

My jaw tightened.

“She planned this?”

The planner nodded.

“She wanted everyone to believe she exposed you.”

I looked across the ballroom.

Chloe was still talking to guests.

Still playing the victim.

Still pretending she had been betrayed.

But the truth was different.

She had planned everything.

The accusation.

The humiliation.

The public search.

The destruction of my dignity.

And Dominic…

my husband…

had stood there and allowed it.

The planner reached into her folder and pulled out a small envelope.

“I saved this.”

Inside was a printed photograph.

A picture from earlier that evening.

Chloe handing something to Amanda.

The ring.

My hands shook.

Not from fear.

From anger.

“How long have you known?”

The planner looked ashamed.

“I was afraid.”

“Afraid of Chloe?”

She nodded.

“Her family controls everything here.”

I looked around the ballroom.

The expensive decorations.

The crystal chandeliers.

The marble floors.

Everything suddenly felt different.

Because I knew something they didn’t.

This place wasn’t controlled by the Whitmores.

They only rented it.

My phone vibrated.

A message appeared.

Dad: Five minutes.

Five minutes.

I looked at Dominic.

He was watching me carefully now.

“Vivienne…”

I said nothing.

“Who is your father?”

The question surprised me.

Because after three years of marriage…

he was asking the question too late.

“You really don’t know?”

His face tightened.

“I know he’s private.”

I laughed softly.

“No, Dominic.”

I looked at him.

“You know nothing.”

Before he could answer, the ballroom doors opened.

Everyone turned.

A group of people entered.

Security officers.

Lawyers.

And behind them…

a tall man in a black suit.

The entire room changed.

Guests stopped whispering.

The wedding planner immediately stepped aside.

Chloe’s smile disappeared.

Because everyone recognized him.

Everyone except my husband.

My father walked straight toward me.

His eyes immediately went to my torn dress.

Then to my face.

And I saw something I hadn’t seen in years.

Anger.

Controlled.

Cold.

Dangerous.

“Who did this?”

Nobody answered.

Then my father looked around the room.

His voice echoed.

“I asked…”

“Who touched my daughter?”

The ballroom became completely silent.

Chloe’s face turned white.

Eleanor stopped breathing.

And Dominic…

finally understood.

The woman they had treated like she had nothing…

was not the woman they thought she was.

My father turned toward the security team.

“Play the footage.”

The giant screens above the ballroom flickered.

May you like

And everyone watched.

The truth was about to begin.
