Emma’s mother, Clara, was brought to court.
She looked exhausted.
She had spent years hiding.
The judge asked:
“Why did you never tell anyone Daniel was alive?”
Clara began crying.
“Because Victoria threatened Emma.”
She revealed that Daniel survived the accident but was badly injured.
Victoria paid doctors to hide his identity.
She wanted Daniel declared dead so she could control his company.
“But where is Daniel now?” the judge asked.
Clara lowered her head.
“I don’t know.”
