CHAPTER 2 — The Woman Who Buried The Truth

CHAPTER 2 — The Woman Who Buried The Truth

The courtroom erupted in whispers.

“Impossible…”

“That sounds exactly like Daniel Hart.”

“He died five years ago.”

The woman in blue, Victoria Langford, tried to remain calm.

“This is fake,” she said. “Someone edited that recording.”

But Emma stepped forward.

“No.”

Her tiny voice silenced the room.

“My daddy made that recording before they took him away.”

The judge frowned.

“Who took him away?”

Emma looked down.

“My mommy told me never to say it.”

The entire courtroom leaned forward.

The lawyer standing beside Victoria suddenly became nervous.

His name was Adrian Cole.

And when Emma looked at him, his hand instinctively moved toward his jacket pocket.

The little girl noticed.

Her eyes widened.

“That’s it…”

Everyone turned.

“That’s what?”

Emma pointed.

“The key.”

May you like

Adrian froze.

“My daddy had that key.”
