Chapter 12 - Race Against Time
Panic surged through my veins like liquid fire, but I forced my breathing to stay steady.
"Lily isn't at school, Claire. She’s with me," I said, gesturing frantically for the guard to trace the signal.
"I know she's not there today, Daniel," Claire laughed softly, a terrifyingly unhinged sound.
"I'm not targeting Lily today. I'm targeting the school's endowment fund."
"The fund your wife set up before she died."
My breath caught in my throat.
"Anna didn't just leave money for Lily," Claire continued, her tone dropping into a dangerous hiss.
"She left five million dollars in an account linked to the school’s allergen-safety research wing."
"And in five minutes, that money will be transferred into an untraceable cryptocurrency wallet in Zurich."
"You can't stop it unless you come to the school courtyard alone."
