Chapter 6 - The Enemy Wearing A Family Name

Anthony Rossi walked into the house like he owned it.

Because for years…

He believed he did.

He wore an expensive suit.

A calm smile.

The same expression he used at family dinners.

The same expression that fooled everyone.

Except now Leo knew the truth.

“You.”

Leo’s voice was full of hatred.

Anthony smiled.

“Hello, nephew.”

Maria stepped backward.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Anthony looked at her.

“After all these years, you still look the same.”

Leo moved between them.

“You tried to kill her.”

Anthony laughed softly.

“Such dramatic words.”

“She disappeared.”

“She survived.”

“You call that luck?”

Anthony’s smile disappeared.

“No.”

“I call it unfinished business.”

Clare felt sick.

This man was speaking about a human life like it was a problem on a piece of paper.

Leo stared at him.

“Why?”

Anthony looked surprised.

“Why?”

“Yes.”

“Why destroy our family?”

Anthony walked closer.

“Because your family was never yours.”

Leo’s eyes narrowed.

“What does that mean?”

Anthony looked at Maria.

“Your mother found out something she shouldn’t have.”

“What?”

Anthony smiled.

“She discovered that your father built the Rossi empire on stolen money.”

Maria interrupted.

“That’s not all.”

Anthony looked annoyed.

“Be quiet.”

Leo noticed.

The fear.

The anger.

Anthony wasn’t in control.

Not anymore.

“What else?”

Maria looked at her son.

“Your grandfather left everything to you.”

Leo froze.

“What?”

Anthony’s expression changed.

“The Rossi empire was never supposed to belong to Victor.”

“It was supposed to belong to Leo.”

The room went silent.

Leo stared.

“I don’t understand.”

Maria continued.

“Your grandfather created a secret trust.”

“A legal document protecting everything.”

“When you turned twenty-five, control would transfer to you.”

Anthony laughed bitterly.

“And I spent years watching a child inherit what I deserved.”

Leo understood.

This was never just about hiding a crime.

It was about power.

Anthony wanted everything.

Suddenly, police sirens appeared in the distance.

Daniel looked outside.

“We have to go.”

Anthony smiled.

“Too late.”

Leo turned.

“What did you do?”

Anthony calmly pulled out his phone.

“I made one call.”

“What call?”

“To the police.”

Leo stared.

Anthony continued.

“I told them Leo Rossi attacked his own uncle.”

Clare looked shocked.

“You’re framing him.”

Anthony smiled.

“Welcome to the Rossi family.”

Minutes later, police surrounded the house.

Leo looked at Maria.

“I’m sorry.”

She shook her head.

“No.”

“You came back for me.”

“That is all that matters.”

But before Leo left, Maria grabbed his hand.

“Leo.”

“What?”

“There is something else.”

He looked at her.

“I never told you.”

“What?”

“Your father didn’t act alone.”

Leo felt a chill.

“Anthony?”

Maria shook her head.

“No.”

“Someone closer.”

“Someone you trusted every day.”

Leo’s face changed.

“Who?”

Maria looked at him.

Then whispered the name.

The name of the person Leo least expected.

And when Leo heard it…

His entire world collapsed again.

May you like

Because the final traitor was not outside the family.

The final traitor had been living beside him all along.
