Chapter 11 - The Final Secret Maria Hid

The room became painfully quiet.

Leo looked at his mother.

The woman he had spent twenty years trying to find.

The woman he believed would finally give him every answer.

But now she was hiding something.

“What aren’t you telling me?”

Maria looked away.

“Leo…”

“No.”

His voice broke.

“Not again.”

“I spent my whole life surrounded by lies.”

“I lost you because people hid the truth.”

“Please.”

“Tell me everything.”

Maria closed her eyes.

Then she finally spoke.

“Your father did not start everything.”

Leo froze.

“What?”

“Victor was weak.”

“He was greedy.”

“But someone else controlled him.”

Daniel stepped forward.

“Who?”

Maria looked at the old photograph in Leo’s hand.

“Your grandfather.”

Everyone became silent.

Leo shook his head.

“My grandfather?”

“He was the reason everything happened?”

Maria nodded slowly.

“He built the empire.”

“He created the power.”

“But he also created the fear.”

“He believed the Rossi family could only survive if everyone obeyed.”

Leo looked confused.

“Then why leave everything to us?”

“Because near the end of his life, he regretted what he created.”

“He wanted to fix it.”

“But Victor and Anthony found out.”

“They knew if you inherited everything, their control would disappear.”

Victor laughed.

“You finally told him.”

Maria looked at him.

“You were always afraid of the truth.”

Victor stepped closer.

“Because the truth is ugly.”

Leo stared at him.

“You destroyed our family.”

Victor’s expression became cold.

“No.”

“I protected it.”

“You don’t understand what happens when powerful people lose control.”

Leo looked disgusted.

“You kidnapped your own wife.”

Victor looked at Maria.

“She made a choice.”

“She chose to betray me.”

Maria shook her head.

“I chose my children.”

That sentence hit harder than anything.

Victor looked at Leo.

“You think she saved you?”

“She created this war.”

Leo stepped closer.

“No.”

“She survived yours.”

Suddenly, Daniel’s phone rang.

He answered.

Then his expression changed.

“What?”

Leo looked at him.

“What happened?”

Daniel slowly lowered the phone.

“The Rossi estate was attacked.”

Leo froze.

“Who?”

Daniel looked at Maria.

“The person who attacked wasn’t looking for money.”

“They were looking for something.”

“What?”

Daniel swallowed.

“The original inheritance documents.”

Leo immediately understood.

Someone was desperate.

Someone knew the final proof existed.

“Where is Mrs. Gable?”

Daniel looked away.

Leo’s heart sank.

“What happened?”

“She disappeared.”

Back at the Rossi estate…

Mrs. Gable opened her eyes.

She was tied to a chair inside the old underground room.

A familiar figure stood in front of her.

Not Victor.

Not Anthony.

Someone else.

Someone nobody suspected.

The person smiled.

“You kept that secret for twenty years.”

Mrs. Gable stared.

“You.”

“Yes.”

“You should have destroyed the letter when you had the chance.”

Mrs. Gable whispered:

“You were always the most dangerous one.”

The person leaned closer.

“And now Leo will finally learn the truth.”

May you like

A pause.

“His mother wasn’t the only person who was betrayed.”
