Chapter 8 - The Investigation Begins
Victor stared at the people entering his home.
“What is this?”
Adrian looked at him.
“This is the beginning of accountability.”
Victor laughed nervously.
“You think you can destroy me?”
Lena finally spoke.
“No.”
“You destroyed yourself.”
The investigators collected documents.
They examined the security footage.
They reviewed financial records.
Then one investigator found something hidden inside Victor’s private office.
A second phone.
A secret account.
And hundreds of messages.
Messages proving Victor had planned to isolate Lena from everyone around her.
Helen read one message.
Her hands started shaking.
“He wrote this?”
Lena looked down.
She already knew the answer.
But she was not prepared for the final message.

Because Victor had written:
“She will never leave me.”
