The dining room went completely silent.
Only the sound of Victor’s breathing could be heard.
“What is happening?”
Nobody answered.
Then the emergency lights turned on.
A large screen appeared on the wall.
Victor froze.
Because the screen showed security footage.
Footage from inside the mansion.
Days.
Weeks.
Months.
Lena watched herself walking through the house.
Always quiet.
Always careful.
Always afraid.
Then another video appeared.
Victor throwing objects.
Victor screaming.
Victor threatening her.
Helen covered her mouth.
Richard looked away in disbelief.
Victor immediately rushed toward the screen.
“Turn it off!”
Adrian stopped him.
“You spent years controlling what people saw.”
He pointed at the footage.
“Now everyone sees what happened when nobody was watching.”
Victor looked at Lena.
“You recorded me?”
Lena shook her head.
“No.”
She looked at Adrian.
“He did.”
Victor’s eyes widened.
