Chapter 11 - THE SON WHO WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO EXIST

The silence was unbearable.

Gabriel looked at his mother.

Not his father.

Not Thomas.

Only Elena.

Because he needed the truth from the person he trusted most.

“Tell me.”

Elena’s lips trembled.

“Gabriel…”

“Please.”

His voice cracked.

“Don’t lie to me too.”

The pain in those words destroyed her.

She stepped closer.

“I never lied because I wanted to.”

“Then why?”

Elena looked at Richard.

Then back at her son.

“Because your life depended on it.”

Gabriel laughed sadly.

“Everyone keeps saying that.”

He shook his head.

“My whole life was a secret.”

Elena reached for his hand.

“You were born before I married Richard.”

Everyone froze.

Richard closed his eyes.

Gabriel stared.

“What?”

Elena swallowed.

“Your biological father was Daniel Whitmore.”

Margaret gasped.

“Richard’s older brother.”

The room went silent.

Gabriel stepped back.

“My uncle?”

Elena nodded.

Daniel Whitmore had been the original successor of the family empire.

A brilliant man.

A man who challenged his father’s corruption.

A man who died under mysterious circumstances.

Gabriel’s entire identity had been built on a hidden truth.

“When Daniel died…”

Elena’s voice shook.

“I was pregnant with you.”

Richard stepped forward.

“I promised Daniel I would protect you.”

Gabriel looked at him.

“So you raised another man’s son.”

Richard nodded.

“You were my son.”

Those words hurt more than anything.

Because Gabriel knew Richard loved him.

But he also knew love did not erase lies.

“Who knew?”

Thomas answered.

“Your grandfather.”

Gabriel looked at him.

“And he wanted me gone.”

“Yes.”

Thomas lowered his eyes.

“Because you were the true heir.”

The pieces finally connected.

Elena’s disappearance.

The forged documents.

The accident.

The threats.

Everything.

Someone had spent years trying to erase Gabriel.

Not because he was weak.

Because he was dangerous.

He was the rightful heir.

Suddenly, the mansion security alarm activated.

A guard ran inside.

“Mr. Whitmore!”

Gabriel turned.

“What now?”

The guard looked terrified.

“We found Valeria.”

Everyone rushed forward.

“Where?”

The guard swallowed.

“In the old chapel.”

Gabriel ran.

The abandoned chapel sat behind the mansion.

A place nobody used anymore.

When Gabriel entered…

He stopped.

Valeria was sitting on the floor.

Alive.

But shaking.

Her expensive dress was covered in dirt.

“Gabriel…”

He rushed toward her.

“Who took you?”

Valeria looked terrified.

“I saw her.”

“Who?”

Valeria looked toward the darkness.

“The person controlling everything.”

Gabriel’s heart raced.

“Who?”

Valeria whispered:

“The person who was supposed to be dead.”

A shadow moved behind them.

Everyone turned.

A woman stepped into the light.

Elena gasped.

Because she knew that face.

“Impossible…”

The woman smiled.

“You thought I was gone?”

Gabriel stared.

The woman looked exactly like Elena.

Same eyes.

Same face.

Same voice.

May you like

And then she spoke.

“Hello, sister.”
