Six months later, Arthur's life looked nothing like before.
The house was gone.
The money was gone.
His reputation was destroyed.
The company that once respected him investigated his actions.
People who once called him powerful stopped answering his calls.
One afternoon, he appeared outside my office.
For a moment, I saw the man I married.
The man I loved.
Then I remembered the coffee.
The courtroom.
The lies.
"I just want to talk."
I shook my head.
"No."
His face changed.
"You can't forgive me?"
