Chapter 4 — The Courtroom Where Everything Changed

The courtroom was silent when Arthur walked in.
He looked confident.
Expensive suit.
Perfect haircut.
The same man who believed he could control every situation.
Then he saw me.
I wasn't crying.
I wasn't afraid.
I was prepared.
Arthur leaned toward me before the hearing began.
"You really want to destroy everything?"
I looked at him.
"No, Arthur."
I paused.
"You did that yourself."
His lawyer started first.
He painted me as unreasonable.
Cold.
Difficult.
A wife who refused to support her husband's family.
Then Victoria stood.
And she changed everything.
She presented the medical records.
The photographs.
The financial evidence.
The hidden transfers.
The trust documents.
One by one.
Arthur's perfect story collapsed.
Then the judge asked:
"Mr. Collins, did you throw hot coffee at your wife?"
The courtroom became silent.
Arthur swallowed.
"It was an accident."
Victoria immediately responded.
"An accident followed by threats, financial manipulation, and attempts to steal protected inheritance funds?"
Arthur had no answer.
