Lawrence demanded answers.
"Who are you?"
Irene looked at the floor.
"I was your father's nurse."
The lobby gasped.
"You were there after his stroke."
Lawrence remembered.
A woman had been helping his father.
A woman he removed because he thought she was unnecessary.
"Irene..."
She looked at him.
"Your father wasn't afraid of dying."
She paused.
"He was afraid you would become someone who only valued people by their position."
