Chapter 2 — The Brother Who Sold My Life

Carlos had always been the quiet one.

The forgotten child.

The one who stood behind my father and waited for approval.

But I knew him better than anyone.

Carlos never wanted love.

He wanted power.

The security footage played again.

This time slower.

The camera zoomed in on his face.

My mother covered her mouth.

“No…”

Carlos stepped backward.

“This is fake.”

Admiral Rueda calmly replied.

“Your mistake was believing you destroyed all copies.”

My father suddenly moved forward.

“Enough.”

His voice shook.

“This family has been humiliated enough tonight.”

But Admiral Rueda did not move.

“No, Arturo.”

A pause.

“This family has hidden enough.”

The admiral revealed another document.

A financial record.

Payments.

Secret transfers.

Companies connected to my father’s defense empire.

My father’s company had been supplying military technology.

Technology that failed.

Technology that caused the explosion.

And when the truth threatened to destroy his empire…

He sacrificed me.

His own daughter.

The room turned toward Arturo.

For the first time in years…

I saw fear in his eyes.

“You knew,” I whispered.

May you like

My father said nothing.

That silence was my answer.
