Chapter 1 - The Quantum Echo

The ink on tomorrow’s newspaper was still damp enough to smudge beneath Noah’s thumb.
He stood frozen in the damp Maine air, listening to the engine of his patrol truck ticking as it cooled.
His own voice calling at 3:17 a.m., his own lifeless body printed on newsprint dated twenty-four hours in the future—it defied every law of physics he had relied on for fifteen years.
Noah scrambled back into the driver’s seat and jammed his key into the ignition.
The engine roared to life, but as he shifted into drive, his eyes caught the dashboard clock.
The red digital numbers flickered erratically before settling.
3:16 a.m.
A high-pitched frequency hummed through the radio speakers, drowning out the gentle rustle of Black Pine Forest.
Noah reached for his service weapon, his knuckles turning white around the grip.
The clock struck 3:17.
His cell phone vibrated violently on the passenger seat, illuminating the cab with an eerie glow.
He didn't pick it up, but the call answered itself, switching automatically to speakerphone.
"Don't let them find the body before I do," his own voice echoed through the cab, perfectly synchronized with his past memory.

Then came a second voice, layered beneath his own like a distorted phantom.
"Or the loop resets again, Noah."
