Chapter 3 - MY FATHER SAW EVERYTHING

The helicopter blades cut through the dark sky.
Inside, my father watched the footage again.
Every second.
Every word.
Every movement.
Especially the moment Diego pushed me.
Alvin Sterling was not a violent man.
But that night…
Something inside him changed.
“He touched my daughter,” he whispered.
The pilot glanced back.
“Sir?”
“Nothing.”
But everyone heard the anger in his voice.
Meanwhile, at the retreat, Diego was panicking.
“Delete the footage.”
The security manager looked at him through the phone.
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“Because your father-in-law owns the system.”
Silence.
Diego’s face went pale.
“My father-in-law?”
“Yes.”
Another silence.
Then:
“Mr. Sterling has access to everything.”
Everything.
The cameras.
The recordings.
The emergency logs.
Every second.
Brenna looked at her son.
“You need to fix this.”
Diego laughed nervously.
“Fix this?”
“Yes.”
He looked at her.
“He saw.”
Her face changed.
For the first time, Brenna looked scared.
Outside, the storm became stronger.
Inside the helicopter, my father received another update.
Rescue team arriving.
Patient conscious.
Weak.
Alive.
He closed his eyes.
Alive.
That was all he needed.
But when he landed and saw me being carried into the ambulance…
He stopped.
My face was pale.
My lips were blue.
My hands were shaking.
“Dad…”
That one word broke him.
He rushed to me.
“I’m here.”
I grabbed his hand.
“Dad…”
My voice was barely there.
“Don’t let him take my baby.”
His eyes filled with tears.
“No one is taking anything from you.”
He looked toward the house.
Toward Diego.
And his expression turned cold.
“Especially not him.”
The next morning, Diego thought he could explain everything.
He was wrong.
Because when he walked into the hospital room…
He found my father waiting.
With the video recording playing on a large screen.
Diego froze.
Alvin looked at him.
“You have exactly one chance.”
Diego swallowed.
“Chance for what?”
My father pressed play.
The room filled with the sound of my screams.
Then his voice.
“Learn to obey me.”
Alvin looked directly into his eyes.
“Chance to tell me why I shouldn’t destroy you.”
And Diego finally realized…
May you like
The woman he tried to break…
Was the woman standing between him and everything he wanted.
