Chapter 11 - The Last Wolf

The facility alarm became louder.

Warning lights flashed across the walls.

The entire building was preparing to collapse.

Richard had planned everything.

He didn’t just want control.

He wanted destruction.

“If I can’t own the Vale empire…”

He looked around.

“Nobody will.”

Mateo moved toward him.

But Richard already had guards surrounding the room.

Luca grabbed the glass wall.

“Richard!”

For the first time, I saw fear in my brother’s eyes.

Not for himself.

For Emma.

Because somewhere in this facility…

His daughter was still missing.

“Where is she?”

I demanded.

Richard smiled.

“Always protecting others.”

He looked at Luca.

“That’s why you lost.”

I stepped forward.

“Where is Emma?”

Richard ignored me.

“The girl is the final piece.”

Adrian’s expression changed.

“The inheritance.”

Richard smiled.

“Exactly.”

The hidden Vale trust.

The one created over a century ago.

The one that could only be controlled by direct descendants.

Emma was the last confirmed heir.

Richard didn’t want to kill her.

He wanted control of her.

He wanted to use her bloodline.

But he made one mistake.

He underestimated what a father would do.

And what an uncle would become.

---

I attacked first.

The room exploded into chaos.

Mateo took down the guards.

Daniel moved toward the control system.

Adrian chased Richard.

And I reached Luca.

The glass barrier separating us was locked.

“Sebastian.”

“I’ll get you out.”

He shook his head.

“No.”

I stopped.

“What?”

He looked serious.

“Emma first.”

I stared at him.

Even after thirteen years.

Even after everything.

He was still the same.

Still choosing others before himself.

“You’re unbelievable.”

A small smile appeared.

“You always hated that about me.”

I laughed quietly.

For the first time in thirteen years.

I laughed.

Then I broke the lock.

The glass door opened.

And I pulled my brother into my arms.

Neither of us spoke.

Because some moments were too painful for words.

---

Daniel reached the control system.

“I can stop the collapse!”

Richard saw him.

“No!”

He rushed forward.

Adrian intercepted him.

The two men crashed against the floor.

“You erased me.”

Adrian said.

“You destroyed my entire life.”

Richard laughed.

“And you survived.”

Adrian punched him.

“Unfortunately for you.”

---

We found Emma in the final chamber.

She was sitting quietly.

Holding her drawing.

The wolves.

Again.

But this time, there was something else.

A third wolf.

I knelt beside her.

“Emma.”

Her eyes widened.

“Uncle Sebastian!”

She ran into my arms.

I held her tightly.

Then Luca reached us.

The moment she saw him…

Everything stopped.

“Daddy?”

Luca fell to his knees.

Emma ran into him.

And for the first time in thirteen years…

My brother cried.

Not from pain.

Not from fear.

From finally being home.

---

The facility continued collapsing.

We escaped seconds before the underground structure destroyed itself.

Behind us, the place that held decades of secrets disappeared forever.

Richard survived.

But he was captured.

And this time…

May you like

He would answer for everything.
