Emily Carter had dreamed about her wedding day since she was a little girl.
The flowers.
The music.
The moment she would walk toward the man she loved and finally become his wife.
Everything was perfect.
Until the moment after the ceremony.
The guests gathered outside the church, smiling and throwing white petals into the air.
Emily waited for Daniel to take her hand.
But instead, Daniel walked toward his mother.

Before anyone could understand what was happening, Daniel lifted his mother into his arms.
The crowd went silent.
Emily stood frozen.

“Daniel…” she whispered. “What are you doing?”
He looked at her proudly.
“She deserves to feel special too.”
Victoria laughed softly.
“Oh, sweetheart,” she said. “A son only gets one mother.”
