Vanessa thought Daniel would return.
She waited.

But Daniel never answered.

Claire saw her walking toward the ICU.

“You shouldn’t be here.”
Vanessa smiled coldly.
“I just want to know how Daniel is doing.”
Claire stared at her.
“Daniel?”

“You’re worried about him?”
Vanessa looked uncomfortable.
Then Claire said:
“He hasn’t slept in three days.”
“He hasn’t eaten.”
“He hasn’t left this hospital.”
Vanessa’s confidence disappeared.
