Chapter 8 — The Girl Who Changed Sterling Falls

One year later…

Lily walked into the same courthouse where the Sterling family had once believed they were untouchable.

She held Marcus’s hand.

The town watched silently.

Not because she was weak.

Because everyone knew her story.

The little girl who was supposed to be forgotten…

had exposed the most powerful family in town.

After the ceremony, Marcus asked:

“Are you okay?”

Lily smiled softly.

“I’m getting better.”

Marcus hugged her.

“You know something?”

“What?”

“You were braver than everyone who was afraid to help you.”

Lily looked toward the courthouse.

“Dad?”

“Yes?”

“Do you think people will remember what happened?”

Marcus smiled.

“They will.”

“Why?”

“Because sometimes the smallest voice…”

He looked at his daughter.

“…is the one that finally makes the whole world listen.”

Years later, Sterling Falls remembered the case that destroyed an empire.

Not because of the powerful family that fell.

May you like

But because of one little girl who survived.

And one father who refused to let the truth stay buried.
